The Wellington Papers
NEW YORK TIMES MIXTAPE

A New York-based music collective, led by native Gothamites HB Wellington & Lex Verlock, release their first mixtape project, entitled "New York Times." This ll track offering includes their original single release "Jackie", which now has more than 10,000 views on Youtube, as well as their NYC Fashion's Night Out anthem, "Music Fashion Women." With a nod to their roots and an eye to the future, The Wellington Papers adapted the original mixtape concept to a new genre, presenting it downloadable directly from their website www.wellingtonpapers.com

The Wellington Papers draw on a unique blend of hip hop, punk, surf rock, ska, and dub influences, and their lyrics--at once savvy, sincere, and light--reflect the unique adventures and misadventures of growing up and living in New York City. Their music pays homage to the electrifying clashup between uptown sophistication and downtown energy that defines life in the Big Apple.

The New York Times mixtape by The Wellington Papers -- it's sophisticatedly raw, hauntingly romantic, and refreshingly free.

PRESS QUOTES
"Jackie” tells the story of love lost under the bright lights of NYC. The raspy vocals sound like too many late nights out smoking cigarettes until dawn. It’s a dual ode to a person, and a city."
- Strangers In Stereo

"Classic New York stays Classic."
- Sky Gelllatly (Hypebeast / Flight Club)
